Some thoughts on the new Florence album: 1) I'd been getting e-mails about it for a few months but when it leaked, I almost wasn't sure if I wanted to download it. I was scared -- how could she follow up Lungs? Like you said, it can't be replicated -- not the music, not the experience, and especially not the time. Her skyrocketing popularity has, unfortunately, made her lose some magic as far as I'm concerned. I hate when people jump on musical bandwagons, and then suddenly their rock gods can ~do no wrong.~ Ultimately, though, I got it, and --
2) LIKE YOU, really wanted to have the feeling I got when I bought CDs! Like SERIOUSLY, I grinned so huge when I read that. My way of dealing was to unzip but not listen, then burn a copy of the CD to listen to in the car on the way to/from Vermont. bahahaha
3) Have you figured out your thoughts on Ceremonials yet? I haven't. The album itself is still kind of blending together for me -- I'll need to devote some time -- but it's the bonus tracks that really stand out, surprisingly! "Remain Nameless" and "Strangeness and Charm" fucking kill me. Though -- "All This and Heaven Too" kind of knocked me out this weekend. ♥
