Amazing
Artist: Johnette Napolitano
Album: Scarred
Year: 2007
♥: I feel a little sacrilegious posting Johnette Napolitano when I can't name a single Concrete Blonde song. I didn't even want to post this song, initially, because I wasn't sure how to write about it --- but I can't run the risk of you never hearing it (and if you already have, now we can exclaim about its brilliance together!), and I haven't been able to stop listening to it since last week when I decided I should have her solo albums: so here you go. "Amazing."
With fall, for me, comes a bit of an emotional shift. Things get a bit hazy for me in summer; I rarely get intensely into anything, music included. The advent of fall means responding to music differently, and I'm pretty ecstatic that I waited till September to realize that "oh hey, Johnette Napolitano has a kickass voice and maybe I should download all her stuff." So I did. And I unzipped it immediately -- a fairly rare occurrence for me -- and when this song started playing, it was instant.
It's not so much what she says (though...♥) as how passionately she says it, how much she means every word.
