I FUCKING LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SONG.

Just wanted to make that clear straight-away.

It's my theme-of-the-moment (and I hate that I've been so lazy slash such a procrastinator because I've been wanting to share it with you for weeks).

I've been doing pretty well lately.  My mood, I mean.  And, well, eating properly, which helps (only four binge/purges in 30 days--which is pretty awesome considering...well, considering before).  Sorry, if that's too much information...I'm tired of beating around the bush.

Anyway, back to the music!

This song makes me happy, awake, alive and the lyrics...they are my version of the Serenity Prayer (haha):

"The frozen life I'm never going back there
It was a lie, a lie
But even so, it is so hard
I saw the light, saw the reconstruction
And I will go [...]
I've seen the future
AND I WILL NEVER BE REPATRIATED."

I love the idea about leaving something and recognizing that it is hard, but resisting the urge to go back to it.  Or not feeling like you're being forced to do something because it seems completely out of your control.  If I am making the lyrics apply to my own personal experience (as I am apt to do) the "country" to which I will not be repatriated is my disorder--even if it does mean going to "parts unknown".  Kind of cheesy, but I love it.

Aside (or, In Addition):  Doesn't, "Where did the feeling go?/I got it back when the plane touched down I was over, I was over, overwhelmed" so perfectly sum up the experience of travel?  It made me think of you.

Okay so this is amazing, as this song:
a) is on my "2011 Summerfect 3" playlist, because
b) it's another one of the songs I had to stop and gasp at while waiting for you at Cagibi.
YES.
I KNOW.
WHAT.
I love this song SO SO SO SO SO MUCH and when I saw you posted it I got frissons.

I totally love your take on it, especially the personal version of the Serenity Prayer -- a really VIBRANT Serenity Prayer, lacking both Serenity and Prayer and tending towards Strength, I think.
I love the travel line too, GOD, YES.

Ugh.
This song is just so alive.
The whole album's awesome but I love that we picked the same one. ♥
