When I thought of this theme during the heatwave I was (obviously) sweating. What you may not know is that I also had these words running through my head over and over again: "Hey, hey, we got it for you/So hot it hurts, yeah". I wasn't entirely sure of the artist, so I started to look through my CDs in an effort to stumble upon the song.

A little Googling and I was lightening-bolt struck with an OH YEAH, it's Brassy and immediately went to my CD tower to pull out, and blow the dust off, my Brassy CD, Got It Made. I listened to the entire CD, thinking that maybe the song wasn't actually called So Hot It Hurts. No dice. Nothing on my hard drive either. Anyway, after all that, it turns out I didn't freaking have the song I wanted to post and could only find it on iTunes.

That's when I realized that it is a very short song indeed. Well. Still, it is definitely my HEAT song. And I'm glad I have a hard copy of the LP (I got it when it came out in 2000, but I have no idea how I stumbled across Brassy...probably some internet search on female-fronted bands) and that I bought the song for $0.99 smackaroos because, ACCORDING TO THEIR WIKIPEDIA ENTRY, Brassy broke up in 2003 because they went into major debt after recording a second album. I'm sure my $0.99 is going to make an impact. Probably not. But the memory of Brassy lives on when I share this song with you.
